We never planned to rescue cats, and for the first decade and a half, we only had a few stray cats find their way to us needing help and a home – but they were all relatively quick to warm up to home (or barn) life. Then in late 2018 we spotted a tabby and white cat on our farm. Over the next year we would spot him from time to time, but he never came near us. Finally, before winter 2019 hit, we rented a cat trap, and Mr. Sam Pickles became our first cat trap feral. Soon we spotted another scared kitty, and at the start of a cold snap we trapped feral kitty number two: Mr. Higgins. We are now working to put a system in place to vet, house and care for any future feral friends, and are using any possible funds raised through this website to look after Mr. Sam Pickles, Mr. Higgins and other area ferals.
